DESCRIPTION:Robert C Kelly in association with the TLT Drogheda\n\nDancer Auditions information\n\n \n\nCHILD PERFORMERS INFORMATION AND NOTES.\n\n\n\n\n \n\nThe information in this document is to assist parents of children taking part in auditions for this yearâ€™s professional production of Beauty and the Beast.\n\n \n\nWe hope it will provide an insight in to what they and their child can expect during the run and what will be expected of them. By providing this information at such an early stage\, we hope it will enable parents and their children to decide if they can make the high level of commitment performing in the production will entail.\n\n \n\nBeauty and the Beast is produced by Robert C Kelly in association with the TLT Drogheda.\n\n \n\nChild performers are a vital part of the show. Their energy and enthusiasm add a different dimension to the production and we are delighted so many children want to take part.\n\n \n\nAuditions will be held at the TLT  Concert Hall at 11am sharp  on 24th September and will last approximately 2 hours. You will need to be present 15 mins prior to start time. \n\n \n\nThe parent/guardian of each child must be present with the child\, or the child will not be auditioned.  \n\n \n\nThe age range for young performers is seven to eleven years of age and the children must still be 11 on 31 December 2017. At the time of audition children should also be less than 4ft 11in (147cms) in height. They will have been given an application form to complete. This must be completed and submitted prior to the Audition along with a passport photograph. A schedule of date and times of performances is included below.\n\n \n\nAudition:\n\n \n\nAt the audition\, the children will be given a short warm-up by the choreographer or her assistant. The Choreographer is Debbie Kiernan and she shall conduct the auditions\, with the Producer and venue representatives\, selecting the 16 performers for this yearâ€™s production. These performers will be split into two groups of eight dancers.\n\n \n\nParents/Guardians will not be permitted into the Auditorium during the audition process.\n\n \n\nOnce the successful candidates have been contacted\, we shall discuss the rehearsal schedule and parents will receive a copy of the license application to complete. In order to participate in the production\, each child must have a completed license form. Copies will be given to the children chosen to be in this yearâ€™s production.\n\n \n\nRehearsals:\n\nRehearsals will commence in October\, dates to be confirmed once the auditions have taken place and the groups have been confirmed.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nIf your child is chosen\, we would expect the following:\n\n \n\nFrom parents:\n\n \n\n \tThat your child arrives on time and is collected on time from any rehearsals or performances.\n \tThat your child behaves with courtesy towards other performers and crew members at all times\n \tThat you inform their chaperone of any reason that they are unable to perform as quickly as possible\, in order to organise cover.\n\n \n\nFrom children:\n\n \tThat you treat your chaperone\, other child performers\, cast and crew members with courtesy and respect at all times.\n\n \n\nGeneral matters:\n\n \n\nChaperones:\n\nA chaperone will be employed for the duration of the rehearsal period and performances. They will provide care for all three groups over the course of the run.\n\n \n\nThe chaperone will be experienced in working with children in a performance or educational environment.\n\n \n\nThe chaperone will meet the children at the stage door at their call time and be responsible for their care and well-being during their time at the theatre. A chaperone will be with the group at all times until the children are collected at the stage door at the end of the rehearsal or performance.\n\n \n\n \n\nHealth and Safety:\n\n \n\nTheatres are very different from the environments most children are familiar with\, so certain health and safety rules must be followed.
